Interested in building your celluloid technical and creative skills? Take a look at our exciting range of celluloid courses, from a one day Super 8 experience to an immersive 17 day, multi camera residential.

Designed to give you the practical skills needed for today’s global Film productions. You will work at our fully equipped Newton Studio Lab- home of the Salford Celluloid Centre of Excellence (SCCE) learning from renowned cinematographers and SCCE directors Laura Hilliard and Steven Wyatt.

The SCCE aims to democratise access to film education, ensuring that analogue filmmaking skills are not reserved for a privileged few. Building on Salford’s undergraduate teaching, 5 professional short courses in multiple celluloid formats will launch in Spring 2026, targeting working industry professionals. To support freelancers, the SCCE is exploring financial aid initiatives and payments plan models.
