  1. Where are your training programmes held?
    Training programmes delivered by the Pipeline are either online or face to face at our MediaCity base or Newton Film Studios, please see programme description for further information.
  2. How do I join the online training programmes?
    A Zoom link (if applicable) will be sent to you prior to the course starting via the email you provide when booking a course/courses. You can still attend a course if you do not have a Zoom account.
  3. What are the programme dates and durations?
    The dates and duration varies, please check each individual training programme for more details.
  4. How do I find you and where can I stay?

  5. Is accommodation provided or do I need to arrange my own?
    For our standard on-site courses, accommodation is not included, with tailored programmes for organisations, we can arrange reasonable and executive accommodation packages to meet your needs
  6. What is included in the course fee (e.g., tuition, materials, equipment use)?
    – All training, site visits and guest speakers from industry
    – Materials and equipment is provided, although for our celluloid programmes you may need to bring your own light meter. Any additional equipment will be listed on the programme page
    – Some of the courses need free software to be downloaded prior to joining the training – please read the details under the course descriptions.

  8. My organisation is looking for a tailored training programme, can you provide this?
    Yes- we work with organisations and businesses to provide tailored training online and in person in Manchester, UK
  9. Is there an age requirement for attending?
    Attendees must be over 18 to attend our standard courses. However, we can provide custom foundational courses for younger groups on request.
  10. Do I need prior experience to attend, or are these courses open to all skill levels?
    Each programme has different requirements ranging from no experience whatsoever to some specific skill levels and career stages which you can check out on each programme listing. Any questions, please ask one of our team.
  11. I’d like to explore the area while I’m visiting for my course, what is there to see and do? The cities of Manchester and Salford have plenty to offer all interests!

  12. I have access needs- can you accommodate me?
    Most of our spaces are accessible and we will work with you to make any reasonable adjustments where possible

  13. How do I join one of the programmes?
    Each course page will have details for booking a place. Programmes are booked and paid for using the University of Salford online shop.
    Fees for the online courses need to be paid in full on booking, for some programmes we are able to offer payments in installments, however the full amount must be paid prior to the course starting. For programmes not yet open for bookings you can register your interest and we will contact you once bookings are open.
  14. Can I attend your training programmes if I live and work outside of the UK?
    Bookings welcome from across the world, however any funded programmes maybe restricted to people living and working within the UK nations and regions.
  15. How will the information I provide be used?
    Personal information given during the booking process is stored as per the The Data Protection Act 2018 which controls how your personal information is used by organisations and businesses and is the UK’s implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
